ECO4 Scheme Government Grants

Free heating, solar and insulation grants now available via the ECO4 Scheme.

What is the ECO4 Scheme?

The ECO4 Scheme (Energy Company Obligation) is a UK government initiative designed to help households lower their energy bills, improve their energy rating, and reduce the UK’s overall carbon footprint

The scheme's main goal is to provide funding for energy-efficient home improvements to low-income households and people living in homes with inadequate insulation.

How much money can I receive from the ECO4 Scheme?

ECO4 grant money ranges from £7,000 to £20,000+ per individual applicant.

Your eligibility for an ECO4 government grant will depend on a number of variables, including your income, the kind of property you own, and the energy efficiency measures you currently have in place.

Do you qualify for an ECO4 grant?

Our team of experts can check your eligibility for an ECO4 grant in just a few simple steps.

1

Your EPC Rating must be D or lower

First, have a look at your Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). Only houses with a rating of D or lower are acceptable. The more improvements you can make to your EPC rating, the more money your property will get from the ECO4 grant.

2

You can be a homeowner or tenant

Whilst the ECO4 Scheme is aimed at homeowners, tenants can also apply with the landlord’s permission. Since the scheme started in 2022, many Landlords have actively encouraged their tenants to apply (with both parties needing agreement).

3

Low-income or vulnerable household

ECO4 is aimed at helping people at risk of fuel poverty so the rules of the scheme are fairly strict. This is where Your Street can help with much of the heavy lifting and our experts can guide you through the process correctly.

While the major energy providers are required to join the ECO4 scheme, smaller suppliers can also opt to participate. If your energy supplier is not a member of the ECO4 programme, you may be unable to benefit from the plan directly via that source.

What's the catch?*
(*you just need to meet the eligibility criteria)

This might seem a bit too good to be true at first, but there isn't actually a catch. If your situation meets the requirements set out by the government, you will be eligible for an ECO4 grant.

If you are a private tenant or homeowner and get any of the qualifying advantages mentioned below, you probably qualify for the ECO4 grant.
